Do You Know How Healthy You Really Are?
Often, our bodies have a way of telling us if something isn’t right. But not all the time. ‘Feeling fine’ doesn’t always mean we are ‘fine’.
There are common conditions that can seriously affect our health if left undetected and untreated.
A ‘Wellness Score Assessment’ acts as a very effective ‘barometer’ to measure your overall health. It’s a great way of gaining peace of mind and confirming all is well. This assessment can also help show us early signs of anything that needs attention.
So how do you find out what’s going on inside?
That’s where our Full Body MOT, otherwise known as the wellness score, comes into play.
This is part of our brand new ‘8 Weeks to Wellness Plan’, where your biomarkers of health are assessed. These biomarkers are measured on a scoring system which measures your physiology and bodily functions. You will then be graded from A right through to F.
This is an outline of what the ‘Wellness Score’ measures:
Body Mass Index
What is BMI? Body Mass Index is a measure of height and weight. The NHS recommend scoring between 18.5 – 24.5 on the BMI scale. If you score any higher than this you have an increased risk of some of the biggest killers around including diabetes, obesity related conditions, heart disease and cancer.
Posture Number
You may be shocked once you see a digital photo of your posture. We will assess your posture from your front and side through digital photographs. Your posture is determined by the positioning of your spine and this also has an effect on what’s happening in your nervous system. The photos of your posture will be analysed against a perfect alignment and we will see where improvements can be made.
Core Strength and Flexibility
Your core is the secret to strength, so we need to test its flexibility. There are 8 different ways in which we test this. Due to the lifestyle choices we make, our bodies suffer from lack of movement throughout the day.
Your Percentage of Body Fat
This measurement shows us how much of your body is composed of fat. You may be slimmer than you used to be, but this doesn’t necessarily mean your body fat will be lower. Your body fat percentage can be a great way to determine how well we are ageing.
An interesting fact to bear in mind….
One pound of muscle burns 3 times as many calories is one pound of fat, yet takes up half the space on your body. This can give us a great indication of how WELL you are.
